Application Process

All applicants are required to complete an online application and upload the approved resume format (a link to the format). It is important you check your e-mail frequently, as all AHA communication including confirmed receipt, approval and decline notices and interview schedules are communicated to you via e-mail. Upon receipt of your application, a notification will be sent to the e-mail address listed on the application. AHA will send an e-mail notification within 7-10 business days to let you know if the application was accepted or denied.

Insurance Requirements


International Participants

The United States Federal Regulations state that all sponsors (AHA) will require each cultural exchange visitor to have insurance meeting or exceeding the following coverage:


  • Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500
  • Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness

US Participants

All US citizens must provide proof of insurance in the form of a valid insurance card.
